“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:5
When days feel dark and overwhelming—beyond what we can understand—it is vital that we turn to the light. Even when darkness seems to prevail, we are not without hope. When fears and worries flood our hearts, minds, and bodies, we do not give up or give in.
Light entered the world through Jesus, and that same light now shines in everyone who has received forgiveness and freedom through His sacrifice. It is our responsibility—our duty, and our privilege—to protect and pass on the light we have received. We honor those who, like Jesus, gave their lives to share that light with others.
Darkness will never comprehend the light, for it longs to be what it can never become: beautiful, loving, loyal, honest, and humble. So we fix our eyes on the light—especially in the darkest of days—that we may pass on what we have so graciously received: Jesus.
